The Story of The Secret Stash

The Secret Stash started back in 2017. While the 2025 version is a reimagining, the goal is the same. To introduce indie authors to new readers and to put books into hands.

Author events, interviews, pop-ups and street fairs are all on the agenda for the future. The goal is to have events and collaborations all the time, which will make the shop a busy, fun community center for all.

After working in retail for twenty-five years I have learned a lot about the industry. I've worked in every corner of a store. So this is a natural progression for me. When I first ran it, back in 2017, things were going very well for The Secret Stash. Had I kept with it, the shop would very likely have a brick and mortar storefront today.

So what happened you ask? I stopped believing in myself and I gave into my fears. Abruptly I shut the shop down and disappointed some truly amazing people who gave me a chance. One of my many hopes with this second round is that I can make it up to those people.

What will be different this time? Me. I have grown tremendously these past eight years. While I am still scared and worry about some things, the degree in which I do is much less and I know in my heart that I can do this and make it come true. Also, the social media plan will be a lot different. We're on TikTok this time around! I'll have to learn how to master that channel going forward.

In closing, it's my sincere hope that you will fall in love with The Secret Stash and be along for the ride as we launch the website, host numerous events and eventually open a shop. It'll be a place where you never know what you'll find in this treasure trove of books. A place where you can hang out to study or meet friends. A place to find your next favorite author.
